THE VOICE week will focus on all aspects of vocal technique. Students will explore many aspects of vocalise, including breath control, phrasing, pitch and volume control and general posture. With her depth of experience, Nelly will mentor each student to develop their unique voice into an effective instrument. Students benefit from individual masterclasses and group sessions. The week concludes with a public performance for a paying audience. This week is ideal for young students who are seeking a career in classical music, enriching their experience through an intensive week of coaching from one of the greatest classical singers of her generation.

THE PERFORMANCE week shifts its focus to the singer’s relationship with other performers on a stage and, vitally, with the audience. To truly serve wonderful vocal skills, a performer must embody the role they are performing: convincing an audience that they are the character they are singing. In classical opera, singers must convey a heightened emotional intensity through their vocal dexterity as well as their acting skills. During the week of THE PERFORMANCE, students will encounter a series of masterclasses designed to elucidate how best to achieve this marriage of skills. The week is ideal for students who are comfortable with their vocal technique while looking to develop their skills as performers. This week will culminate in a public performance of excerpts that have been rehearsed during the week of the course.  Students on this course will be allocated certain roles once they have been accepted on the course. There will be an expectation that students will be musically prepared in these roles before the course begins. For this Course we are looking for, Sopranos, Mezzo-Sopranos, Tenors, Baritone and Bass singers. There is also an opportunity for singers on the PERFORMANCE course to perform solos in the performance of Carmina Burana – performed by students on the Academy’s Choral Course - that is also being staged during the week of the course. This will again depend on the voices of the singers who apply for the course.

As the two courses have a different focus and emphasis, students are welcome to attend either or both courses. For those who can attend both weeks there will be a discount on the total cost of the two courses which can be discussed when accepted on the courses.

MASTERCLASSES WITH NELLY MIRICIOIU – THE VOICE 

Sunday 12 April to Saturday 18 April 2026 - Issigeac, France

All singers will be asked to submit a CV and a recording for consideration. Places on this course are strictly limited. The minimum age for this course is 18. The 2025 course sold out.

The course fee is €995. There will be a deposit of €250 once you have been accepted onto the course with a balance payment due 1 month before the event.

Once registered, there are no refunds for cancellations, unless there are exceptional circumstances discussed with the Academy

All course fees are in euros.

The fee DOES NOT include your flights or transport to and from France, but does include the following:

Transport from Bergerac Airport or train station to Issigeac (at a pre-agreed time)

All course tuition

Accommodation 

Breakfast, light lunch and an evening meal

MASTERCLASSES WITH NELLY MIRICIOIU – THE PERFORMANCE

Sunday 19 April to Friday 24 April 2026 - Issigeac, France

Again, all singers will be invited to submit a CV and a recording before being invited to join this course. There are a strictly limited number of places available on the course. As stated earlier, singers on this course will be expected to be musically prepared in certain roles in advance to participate fully on the course.
