ISSIGEAC INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ACADEMY
OUR STORY
The idea for a classical music academy based in Issigeac came from a passion for classical music and this particularly beautiful part of France. When the co-founders, Adrian Lithgow and Ishani Bhoola, first met they discovered they had both identified the enormous benefits of promoting and producing classical music courses and concerts in Issigeac. The Dordogne has a long and rich multi-cultural history, and the arts have played a vital part in bringing these different cultures together. With the full support of the mayor and the commune of Issigeac the IIMA was opened in 2019.

Classical music is at the heart of everything we do. Since the Academy opened, we have run numerous courses for music students helping them develop new skills and confidence in their abilities. We have a passion for excellence and invite world class musicians to teach and mentor our students. We complement these courses with concerts of a quality that equals that of major music venues across the globe.

The IIMA is a not-for-profit organisation and, aside from the professional musicians, the academy is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. If you would like to support the work of the academy please
